Waste Pro said the investment in cameras is small compared to the benefits. The cameras allow employees to view both sides of the truck, and will also shoot footage from inside the cab.
Cort Sabina, the vice president and CFO of Waste Pro said, “The intent of adding cameras to the trucks is to promote safe behaviors, as well as protect the company from potential accident-related lawsuits.”
The private waste and recycling firm has over 2 million residential and commercial customers at over 75 locations in eight states in the Southeast. In 2013, the company listed revenue at $510 million.
