Agilyx Announces New Chairman and Board Member
Tigard, OR, January 11, 2017. Agilyx Corporation announced today that Joseph Vaillancourt has assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Ross M. Patten, CEO, who has served as Chairman since 2012 will remain on the Board of Directors. The move, in combination with other planned changes, will allow Mr. Patten to drive the Company’s next phase of growth augmented by Mr. Vaillancourt’s deep experience in the commercialization of environmental technologies including project development, strategic partnerships, and project financing. These changes will drive the expansion of Agilyx’s technology platforms.
Mr. Vaillancourt brings more than 25 years’ of operational, financial, and strategic experience in industrial and environmental infrastructure development to the role. He has worked with private equity in the energy and industrial sectors and has participated in the financing and commercialization of more than 15 environmental technology companies. In 2014, Mr. Vaillancourt retired from a 15-year tenure with Waste Management Inc. where he held several senior roles across the company and ultimately was involved in creating and managing the company’s corporate venturing activities. Mr. Vaillancourt has also been a part of various founding groups in more than 10 companies in a diverse set of industries. Currently Mr. Vaillancourt is the founder and Managing Director of Venture Enterprises, an affiliate firm focused on helping advance value creation and strategic partnership development for corporations, private equity, and technology-based startups.
Mr. Patten, CEO, said that “Joe has been a tremendous advocate for Agilyx since he began working with the Company in 2012. In his new role as Chairman, Joe brings decades of experience in developing projects and infrastructure as well as relationships that we can leverage for our next phase of growth. Also joining the Agilyx Board is Kevin Surace. Kevin Surace has been innovating in technology and materials for 30 years and holds 28 patents. For 10 years he led Serious Materials driving energy efficiency in buildings, the world’s largest contributor of CO2, impacting some 70,000 projects including iconic structures such as the Empire State Building and the New York Stock Exchange. He has been active as a board member and advisor to dozens of sustainability companies from water re-use to dynamic windows to materials recycling and upcycling and is one of the best-known speakers in the country on topics including sustainability, energy efficiency, jobs, disruptive innovation, and entrepreneurship.
