Dive Insight:
Waste Pro touts being one of the fastest growing privately-owned waste collection companies — a claim that can be defended by its consistent acquisitions and business deals. Just last month, Waste Pro acquired Arkansas-based Downum Waste and also replaced Inland Waste as Germantown, TN's waste hauler. In March, the company awarded Clean Energy Fuels a contract to build two Florida CNG stations for its trucks.
"We are very pleased to be entering the market and providing another option for the businesses and residents of Polk County to receive solid waste and recycling collection services," said Central Florida Regional Vice President Tim Dolan in a statement after this recent acquisition.
Waste Pro has also focused on safety, which is a trend being seen across the industry. In March, the company partnered with Alliance Wireless Technologies (AWTI) to install safety camera systems in 1,800 of its trucks.
