Dive Brief:
- Aspinwall, PA residents and businesses can get rewards for recycling more items, thanks to a program instituted there by the town’s new waste hauler, Waste Management. Recyclebank, a program paying for higher volumes of recycling by offering rewards for services and products to those who recycle more, starts in this Pittsburgh suburb on July 1.
- Aspinwall borough manager Melssa Land told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that the borough’s council included the Recyclebank program in its Waste Management contract to encourage more recycling. That program should provide savings for the borough, through lower costs associated with disposing of garbage in landfills, she said.
- Each property in Aspinwall will get new 25-gallon recycling bins by July 31.
