- Waste Management Inc. announced it will replace 40 diesel-powered trucks in its Baton Rouge fleet with compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles.
- The exchange is expected to be finished by May of 2015. Waste Management will also build a fueling station in Walker, Louisiana. The company is open to a private business or public agency operating a public fueling station next to its facility.
- The waste and recycling behemoth expects that the need for more fueling stations will expand. It is something the company itself doesn't want to pursue, and is anticipating other businesses will fill the need.

Waste Management is moving toward its goal of transitioning 80% of its fleet to alternative fuels by 2020. That is equivalent to over 20,000 trucks. The company has been replacing its fleet with CNG vehicles across the country, including Florida and Washington state.
