• Waste Management of Canada and GFL Environmental have announced an agreement in which GFL will acquire Waste Management's assets across multiple Canadian provinces, according to a press release issued on CNW. 
• The purchase will span across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, according to CNW.
• According to the contract, the Ontario-based GFL, an environmental services firm that specializes in solid waste, liquid waste and soil remediation, will now own six new hauling yards and three landfill sites. It will also gain 145 employees, as reported by Solid Waste Magazine.

There is no word on the value of the deal. According to Solid Waste & Recycling Magazine, GFL has about 12,100 commercial and industrial accounts and 888,000 residential customers.
