- Waste Management’s Grand Central Hauling Company in Plainfield Township, PA, recently added 30 new CNG-powered trucks to its local fleet.
- Grand Central Hauling Co. also showcased its first on-site fueling station, where anyone with a CNG-powered vehicle and a credit or debit card can fill up their vehicle.
- "You always hear the slogan, 'Think globally, act locally.' Waste Management did that," said Janet Warnick, regional manager for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Energy and Technology division.

Replacing one diesel-fueled truck saves 8,000 gallons diesel, Waste Management officials said. Such a switch also removes 24 tons of greenhouse gas emissions yearly. Waste Management is committed to such efforts, and of its fleet of 32,000 vehicles, 4,100 are powered by CNG.
