Dive Insight:
In 2013, Upstate Shredding noted that the company planned to expand into Pennsylvania and New York. This is the Owego, New York-based company's first location in the Pittsburgh area, and it still expects to expand to others locations in both western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Adam Weitsman, owner of Upstate Shredding-Ben Weitsman, said, "This is a great strategic move for expanding our reach throughout the Northeast… we do not yet have a location in this region of the Northeast so this acquisition is filling a great need to serve Mt. Morris and the surrounding regions."
