- A UK-based tech company, AMCS, has acquired U.S. waste collection software provider PC Scale Technologies (PCST) for an undisclosed amount.
- PCST, based in Oxford, Pennsylvania, offers software solutions for managing recycling, solid and medical waste operations since 1986. It has an annual turnover of $10 million, and has 50 employees across the United States.
- Since 2003, the Limerick, Ireland-based AMCS went from a solutions provider in the Irish waste markets to having subsidiaries in the UK, U.S,, Sweden and Norway. This acquisition will turn the company into the world's largest waste management software company.

The new division of AMCS Group will be led by PCTS's chief operations officer, Ken Good. According to Business and Leadership, the CEO of AMCS Group said, "Our increased product offering, implementation and service capabilities result in AMCS being the only provider of a truly one-stop software solution on a global scale to the recycling and waste management industry."
