- The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) named David Biderman as its executive director and CEO. He replaces John H. Skinner, who announced his retirement in December.
- Biderman will step into his new role at SWANA on May 1.
- Before joining SWANA, Biderman acted as General Counsel and Vice President of Government Affairs at the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA); he worked at NWRA for 18 years.

Brian Tippetts, President of SWANA, said the association "updated its strategic management plan for our vision of the future…" New goals at SWANA include a focus on public education, training and enhancing its offerings to the industry.
