- The driver of a sanitation truck in St. Louis was trapped inside after the vehicle's arm got caught in power lines during a routine collection.
- The employee was unable to open the door because the power lines were live and she may have been electrocuted.
- The power was turned off so a crew could remove the power lines from the truck and release a dumpster from the arm, which had been holding the bin in mid-air.
Dive Insight:
As the driver tried to free the truck's arm from the wires, the vehicle became even more tangled, resulting in a telephone pole being ripped from the ground. The pole will have to be replaced.
