• The tube and cores facility promoted recycling, and its staff took efforts to another level by diverting tube scrap to a sourcing company.
• Scrap materials from the Tulsa plant are recovered as waste-to-energy at a Covanta facility.

Sonoco’s Sustainability Star Awards are administered by the company’s recycling business, Sonoco Recycling. The company collects over 3 million tons of corrugated containers, different grades of paper, metal and plastic every year.

Sonoco Recycling operates five material recovery facilities and has a program that focuses on waste reduction for U.S. based consumer product companies.
