• Sonoco, a diversified packaging company, is partnering with Ecover, a firm focusing on an environmentally-friendly line of home care products, to make sustainable bottles from plants and recycled resin.
• The packaging is a made from plant-based high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin. The bio-resin is created using plant-based feedstock and recoiled resin obtained form curbside collections.
• Ecover has operations in Europe and plans to open a manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL; Sonoco's headquarters are in Hartsville, S.C.
