- Six companies have been ordered to pay the federal government $400,000 towards the cleanup of toxic waste at the Williams Township landfill in Pennsylvania.
- Chrin Brothers Inc. will be responsible for any related future costs, according to a consent decree filed with the EPA. The company has owned the site since 1960.
- Throughout the years, the landfill legally accepted volatile organic chemicals, which caused soil and groundwater contamination.

The monies collected will be used for the cleanup of toxic materials, eventually resulting in the removal of the site from the Superfund list. It is named the Industrial Lane Superfund site on court documents. Other companies named in the lawsuit include Cooper Industries LLC, CNA Holdings LLC, STWB Inc., Victaulic Co. and Binney & Smith LLC, now known as Crayola LLC.
