• Sims Municipal Recycling has announced it will handle all of the recycling for New York City, on the heels of the newly established “Recycle Everything” campaign, which encourages New Yorkers to reduce municipal waste by bringing the recycling rate up to 30% by 2017. 
• The addition of Sim’s new Brooklyn materials recovery facility opens up the range of plastics residents are able to recycle, including rigid plastics like hangers and crates. Prior to the partnership, the city only accepted polyethylene terephthalate and high-density polyethylene materials.
