Dive Insight:
The R2 Standard was established through a process that included the EPA, electronics manufacturers, recycling companies and non-profits. Facilities certified by the R2 Standard use best practices in regard to employee health and safety, environmental protection and data security.
SERI recently partnered with two corporations, Xerox and Keep America Beautiful, to establish programs promoting the reuse and recycling of e-waste. The companies will uphold the R2 standards and commit to adhere to the set of universal guidelines.
