- Republic Services Inc. announced the acquisition of Rainbow Disposal, one of the biggest independent haulers in Southern California.
- Republic now owns Rainbow’s business and facilities such as routes, transfer stations, a CNG fueling station, a fleet of CNG trucks and a recycling facility.
- As per the agreement, Jerry Moffatt, the former COO of Rainbow Disposal and former president of Rainbow, Jeff Snow- will join Republic and lead its newly launched business unit.

Republic’s new unit will cater to residential and commercial customers and will provide waste collection services, transfer, disposal, organic composting, as well as material recovery and recycling.
The acquisition serves to expand Republic’s imprint in Southern California and falls in line with the hauler’s growth strategy to develop its operations via targeted acquisitions.
