Dive Brief:
- Ontario's 2R Services has been fined a total of $320,000 for permitting contaminated industrial sewage waste to discharge into the nearby "Lovers Creek."
- The company's directors were also charged in association with the violations, which included failing to respond to the issue twice, Solid Waste & Recycling reports.
- Environmental agencies ordered the hazardous waste storage and transfer facility to comply with standards after taking contaminated water samples in 2010. But facility directors Ludovit Bodnar and Peter Weinwurm failed to respond in a timely fashion.

All told, 2R Services pleaded guilty to seven charges and was fined $260,000, according to Solid Waste & Recycling.
The directors, Bodnar and Weinwurm, were charged $57,000 and $2,500 in fines, respectively.
