Dive Brief:
- The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) has announced the formation of a new chapter which will represent waste and recycling companies in Maine and New Hampshire.
- The group will be known as the Northern New England Chapter of the National Waste & Recycling Association. This is the first new chapter to join the association since May of 2013.
- The group will contain two separate operating committees, each focused on its respective state.

The new chapter will advocate for pending legislation in Maine dealing with the best way to fund the state's integrated waste program in the future. The Northern New England Chapter also anticipates creating an effective waste and recycling grassroots action network, and is expecting to set up procedures to monitor and react to developments within the regional private waste and recycling industries.
Initial members of the new Northern New England Chapter include: Casella Waste Systems, Troiano's Waste, Charles George Trucking, Clean Energy, Waste Management, Inc., ReEnergy, EL Harvey & Sons, Oceanside Rubbish and Republic Services.
