• Working with the city of Quebec, Konecranes devised a plan to replace the plant’s cranes. By building an additional maintenance bay at the plant, the firm was able to replace one crane while the other crane continued operating.
• Less than a decade after the crane replacements at the circa-1974 WTE plant in Quebec, those upgrades have paid for themselves, according to a news release.

WTE plants are gaining popularity across the globe, but these plants are focused on bang-per-buck. Efficiency is essential. For this technology to become more widespread, it must make sense by being economical. Konecranes may have one way to accomplish that viability.
