As the new leader at the Environmental Industry Associations, Sharon H. Kneiss brings an important background of experience in both environmental issues and association management, according to the man who spearheaded the search.
Her experience in advocacy and public speaking also helped Kneiss win the president and CEO positions over more than 150 other people who had showed interest, according to Charlie Appleby, chairman of the EIA Board of Trustees.
Kneiss, who owns a consulting company, was named to succeed Bruce J. Parker as president and CEO of the trade group late last week and is slated to start her new job on June 1.
But the new leader will have her coming-out party at Waste Expo, the industry´s largest annual gathering, in a couple of weeks.
