A delegation featuring the mayor and other key officials from Kathmandu will arrive in Eugene today to observe local waste management facilities in search of solutions to the effects of overcrowding in the sprawling Nepalese city.
The delegation from Kathmandu, which is the capital of Nepal and the first city to join Eugene’s Sister City program in 1975, will mark the first visit by its leaders in seven years. Mayor Kedar Bahadur Adhikari and eight other officials will spend four days touring facilities in Eugene and Lane County and meeting with related businesses in the waste management industry....
