- Green Box NA, a reclamation technology company based in De Pere, WI, has announced a project to construct two recycling plants in Michigan.
- A new facility in Detroit will use commercial paper scrap from the food service industry and prepare it for processing. Bales and pellets will then be transported to a plant in Cheboygan, MI for conversion into various paper products including tissue, paper towels and napkins.
- The Michigan Strategic Fund granted $125 million in private activity bonds to Green Box. The funding is expected to cover some of the costs of the $200 million project.

After the bond transactions are finalized, Green Box expects that the project in Cheboygan will take a little under a year to complete, while the Detroit plant should be operational within three to six months.
