- Flooding in April made it Impossible for West Florida Recycling, the previously-contracted recycler, to offer residential recycling services. The program quietly ended, and customers still separated recyclables for pick-up, as a majority of households were not aware of the hiatus in services.
- The Santa Rosa County Commission ended its contract with West Florida Recycling, and is weighing a new contract with ECUA. Negotiations have stalled, however, because both parties can expect to barely break even under the terms of the contract.
