A prank gift, made to look like a bomb, shut down a Waste Management Inc. site in Hillsboro, Ore., on March 8, according to a local news report. Hillsboro police said the item, described as flares taped together and attached to a clock, was discovered in a bag by a worker sorting through garbage. Also attached was a "love note" that said "thinking of you," according to The Oregonian newspaper in Portland. The Waste Management site was closed for about two hours while police, including the Portland bomb squad, investigated, the newspaper said.
