Research Firm, TechNavio, has forecasted that the Global e-waste market will grow at a CAGR of 17.8 percent over the period 2011–2015.
One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the existence of valuable materials in e-waste. The Global e-waste market has also seen an increased need to reduce toxins discharged from unattended e-waste.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from TechNavio’s Clean Tech team said, “There is a growing demand for electronic products that operate in a highly optimized fashion in terms of performance and power. In the urgency to create the best-performing products, manufacturers are producing electronic products that include a huge volume of toxic chemicals. Quick technological innovation will also lead to existing equipment becoming obsolete sooner, thus leading to an accumulation of e-waste. This situation has led to the need for e-waste management.”
