Dive Insight:
Martin Nielson said that cites the U.S. as an “enormous opportunity for growth.”
Nielson noted that the company plans to use the current worldwide focus on confronting and addressing e-waste issues as an opportunity to expand its reach at a global level. In February, the the company received two major investments from holding company Tanke to expand into China: one for $30 million and one for $2.3 million. In May, EWSI announced positive growth and increased revenue in Q1 as a result of new operations and acquisitions.
The global e-waste market, while growing rapidly, is not without its challenges: At an ISRI convention in May, a discussion focused on electronic waste in emerging markets, focusing on the ongoing challenge of infrastructure.
