- Computer manufacturer Dell has a goal to use 50 million pounds of recycled-content plastics in its product line by 2020, and has announced two new green collaborations in pursuit of that goal.
- Dell announced a partnership with Newlight Technologies to use AirCarbon, a plastic material, for notebook cases. AirCarbon is created using carbon pulled from the air, reports GreenBiz.
- The company has also partnered with Wistron Green Tech, to become what Dell is touting as one of the first companies in the IT industry to earn a closed-loop recycling validation from UL Environment. Dell will release its new desktop computer in June 2014; it uses 10% post-consumer waste, which Dell says it collects from its e-waste programs.

The tech company also experiments with sustainable packaging. Past efforts include using materials like bamboo, mushrooms and wheat grass for packaging, reports GreenBiz. According to Dell, the inclusion of these sustainable choices eliminated 20 million pounds of packaging, and saved the company $18 million.
