• Covanta Energy Corporation is entering into a partnership with Turning Earth, LLC that will bring organics materials recycling to Connecticut municipalities and businesses. 

• Turning Earth will construct, own and operate an integrated organic recycling facility and Covata will supply the food waste from its commercial and residential customers.

• The plant will use patented Aikan technology, which utilizes high-solids anaerobic digestion in conjunction with an in-vessel composting system.

The source of the waste will consist of food and yard waste, which can be turned into new products such as compost and renewable base load energy. The two companies are seeking additional opportunities to partner in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
