Dive Insight:
In 2013, Clean Earth handled 3.4 million tons of material, 98% of which was reused. The firm operates 12 facilities within the US, and has the biggest market share in the contaminated and dredged materials management market.
In March 2014, the West Virginia Senate passed a bill that mandates drill cuttings be placed in landfills. According to WV state Sen. Herb Snyder, the bill was important because there aren’t many regulations in place that dictate how these materials are handled.
