Dive Insight:
CieTrade has been especially active in the last few years with new technology. In 2014 alone the company introduced a mobile reporting app for customers, an online recycling portal for the clients of its customers, and another app for commodity trading and recycling companies. The company sees this latest software release as yet another way to make the industry more efficient through technology.
“Effectively leveraging information technology has always been critical to the success of waste service consolidators," said cieTrade Systems President David Haber in a statement, "especially when you consider the typical data volumes, service demands, and reporting needs of national accounts."
Companies such as Rubicon Global and Recycle Track Systems have also received attention for their use of technology, both internal and consumer-facing. As the waste brokerage field evolves to meet the needs of customers more interested in diversion, these tools will be very helpful to keep track of the many moving parts.
