Milwaukee, Wisconsin based Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), a global automotive battery supplier and recycler is due to open a fully integrated automotive battery recycling center in Florence, South Carolina this summer.
The company said that the Florence Recycling Center, which will serve customers' needs in the growing mid-Atlantic region, is the first U.S. facility of its kind to be constructed in nearly 20 years.
JCI added that construction at the facility is almost complete, with the manufacturing portion of the facility fully enclosed and undergoing final touches.
