Dive Insight:
Although 70% is satisfactory according to the system, it is worth noting that GFL did experience some issues when it initially took over the route in 2012, and drivers were still getting familiar with routes. According to The Star, the downgraded status could cost GFL new contracts; some winning bids for certain contracts require a rating of "satisfactory."
GFL recently acquired assets from Waste Management Canada, resulting in additions of landfills and hauling yards.
