Dive Brief:
- BioCNG is joining forces with a waste district in Louisiana to expand the district’s biogas fuel operation used for fueling compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks.
- The “Vehicle Fuel Project” was created in 2012, and as part of its expansion will install a “mother-daughter” station format, touted as the first of its kind in the nation, per a news release.
- Progressive Waste Solutions is involved with the project; the hauler entered into an agreement to purchase CNG vehicles to add to its fleet, and will also fuel its trucks using the expanded facility.
Dive Insight:
The expansion project includes an increase in biogas production and the addition of an off-site fueling system, transported via a gas tube trailer.
