American Disposal Services' 45,000-square foot state-of-the-art recycling center in Manassas, Virginia is scheduled to begin operating in January.
The plant will accept recyclables from Washington D.C., West Virginia, the area north of Richmond, Virginia, with the materials processed at the center sorted, baled and sold to manufacturers around the world.
Dive Insight:
The company is calling the facility as the most modern recycling center in the area and says the center will reduce the amount of landfill space by more than a half million cubic yards. The facility will include an education center adjacent to the main building. "Producing only the highest quality materials ensures that our end product will be used for new, recycled goods. The process is essentially an infinite loop in that no material is wasted," said American Disposal Services President Paul Coury.
