The Central Wales Waste Partnership (CWWP) has appointed Oxfordshire based organic waste specialist, Agrivert as the preferred bidder for a food waste recycling contract.
The company said the 15 contract will cover the recycling of 10,000 tonnes per year of food waste, and that it expects it to be signed in May this year. The food waste will initially be recycled at Agrivert's existing Cassington anaerobic digestion (AD) facility, but the company and the CWWP, which is comprised of Ceredgion and Powys County Councils, said they hope to eventually recycle the waste locally in Wales.
