Dive Brief:

• Advanced Disposal Services Inc., a waste and recycling company based in Ponte Verda, Florida, added to its holdings with the recent purchase of assets from DC Disposal in Indiana and Sherman Sanitation in Wisconsin.

• These acquisitions mark the 16th and 17th purchases the company made in 2013.

• The deals were both finalized on the last day of the year in 2013, for an undisclosed amount.

The Sherman Sanitation deal includes six commercial routes that will be handled through Advanced Disposal's location in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The DC Disposal assets include 900 residential carts, 130 rear-load receptacles and commercial routes that will now be covered at Advanced Disposal's Evansville, Indiana site. 

2013 was a busy year for Advanced Disposal. A look into just a few of the 17 acquisitions this past year shows its calculated growth. The company added a hauler in Wisconsin, while purchasing companies in both Georgia and Pennsylvania. The firm also acquired haulers in Georgia and Illinois the week after it announced buying three assets in the Midwest.
