Dive Brief:
- Action Resources of Birmingham, AL has purchased Houston-based Stella Environmental Services, a municipal solid waste processing firm, and McAlester, OK-based Triad Transport, which hauls hazardous waste and other materials. Both deals were for undisclosed amounts.
- The new business unit, Action Transfer Services, operates in 13 locations with a fleet of about 120 owner-operators and six company drivers. Wilf Roth leads Stella and joins Action Transfer Services as the president and general manager.
- By adding Triad, Action Resources expands its geographic footprint to McAlester, OK; Phoenix; Houston; Salt Lake City; Columbus, OH; and satellite facilities in Fontana, CA; Pendergrass, GA and Benton, AR. Triad also adds 150 tractors to increase Action’s total to more than 470.
