• Republic Services (NYSE: RSG) added 79 Compressed Natural Gas sanitation trucks to its Indianapolis, Indiana fleet.

• Republic installed two natural gas fueling stations in Indianapolis.

• The solid waste and recycling company now has over 1,400 CNG trucks across the country, in addition to 26 natural gas fueling stations.

Dive Insight:

About 50 percent of Republic's fleet bought this year are operated using natural gas. Each truck reduces harmful emissions by an estimated 80 percent. This announcement follows the recent addition of 107 vehicles to the company's fleet in Anaheim, California. Republic had previously introduced CNG trucks in Massachusetts, South Carolina, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
