The recycling facility will recover recyclables from mixed-waste, sold to manufacturing customers in the Midwest. Covanta anticipates the plant will increase recycling by five times the current rate, and recover between 80-90% of resources including paper, cardboard, plastic and metal.
Covanta recently announced its first quarter, 2015 results. In the first quarter of 2015, revenue fell $18 million, to $383 million, down from $401 million in 2014.
